"In addition to creating watches I love to wear, OMEGA passionately supports the sport I love to play. I'm proud to be part of this family. " RORY MCILROY

A sport of precision, excellence and elegance, golf perfectly reflects OMEGA's intrinsic qualities and values. It has become an integral part of the Swiss watchmaker's identity, and the company is committed to promoting its development throughout the world. Thanks to concrete actions and targeted partnerships in recent years, the House of OMEGA has become inseparable from some of golf's finest players and most spectacular tournaments. The OMEGA Masters is one of Europe's most prestigious golf tournaments, and certainly one of the most breathtaking. Originally called the Swiss Open when it was founded in 1923, this event in the mountains of Crans-Montana has been held at the same venue since 1939, making it the oldest golf tournament in Europe to be contested on the same course every year. Over the course of its illustrious history, the high-altitude competition has been won by such famous players as Ernie Els, Sergio García, Seve Ballesteros and Nick Faldo.

Crans-Montana 2022

OMEGA has been the title sponsor of the OMEGA Masters since 2001. This year's edition, the Swiss watch brand's 21st in this role, promises to be spectacular, attracting some of the world's most talented golfers to the mountain greens.

Amazingly, this year will also mark the 74th staging of the competition at the Golf-Club de Crans-sur-Sierre, once again underlining the remarkable heritage and Swiss spirit of the venue.

A fixture on both the European Tour and the Asian Tour since 2009, the OMEGA Masters illustrates the deep ties that unite these two golf-loving continents.

OMEGA golfers

This year's OMEGA Masters will see a number of OMEGA ambassadors competing, all hoping to make it to the top of the rankings. Guido Migliozzi and Sean Crocker have both proved their worth with victories on the European Tour, and are now hoping to add to their honours list.

With successful amateur careers under their belts, Danish twins Rasmus and Nicolai Hojgaard are among Europe's new rising stars. Professionals only since 2019, the two golfers are well aware of the precision and power required to win a trophy.

Golf and glamour

As well as attracting top professional players, the OMEGA Masters is a popular tournament with golf-loving stars. Cindy Crawford, Michael Phelps, Tom Felton and Justin Timberlake are just a few of the many famous fans of the green who have been regulars at previous editions.

But you don't have to be a celebrity to enjoy privileged treatment. OMEGA offers an exceptional welcome to all its loyal customers.

Golf at the Olympic Games

At the 1904 Summer Olympics, Canadian George Lyon won the gold medal after a brilliant round on the St. Louis green. A great moment for the player and a memorable day for golf: it was the last time the sport would be honored at this prestigious sporting event.

It wasn't until 2016, 112 years later, that golf made a comeback. For many of the world's greatest players, it was a chance to take to the biggest stage on the planet and win a truly unique trophy: an Olympic medal.

Golf then returned to Kasumigaseki Country Club for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The men's events were particularly memorable, as seven men competed for the bronze medal in a tense sudden-death session.

OMEGA is at the heart of the golf events at the Olympic Games. For this occasion, the company is offering unique innovations, including scoreboards installed flush with the turf on dedicated tees. These are equipped with radar measurement systems that capture and display the data from each shot, to the delight of spectators. In addition to the player's name and score, the scoreboards simultaneously display the speed and height of the shot, as well as the estimated distance.

The new generation of golfers will have the opportunity to win an Olympic medal at the Paris 2024 Games. While we don't yet know who will stand on the highest step of the podium, we can already be sure that OMEGA will once again be there, as Official Timekeeper and passionate supporter.

The Seamaster Aqua Terra "Ultra Light

Ergonomic and designed for maximum comfort, the Seamaster Aqua Terra "Ultra Light" is crafted from an alloy called titanium gamma, a light and resistant material derived from the aerospace industry and used here for the first time by OMEGA. Another new feature is the telescopic crown, which can be pushed back against the case when not in use.

This matte-finish Aqua Terra is distinguished by bold touches of color on the aluminum second hand, Seamaster logo, quarter-hour markers and strap stitching. Red, blue or green: which model will be yours?

The Ultra Light is powered by OMEGA's very first titanium movement. The hand-wound 8928 Titanium calibre with Co-Axial escapement is Master Chronometer certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). It can withstand magnetic fields of 15,000 gauss. Like OMEGA's sports ambassadors, it has proved its worth in the toughest conditions.

Beyond golf

OMEGA's reputation also extends to many other sports around the world. The company has been Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932. In addition to timing every second of every event, OMEGA has invented and developed a number of revolutionary time-measuring technologies which athletes, judges and spectators rely on today. This love of timekeeping has naturally evolved to serve other major sporting events in athletics, swimming, sailing, bobsleigh and monobob.
