Perpetuating Bell & Ross' aeronautical heritage and visual signature of the "round in the square," the BR X5 adds a new chapter to the history of the BR 05 collection. " The BR X5 comes from the BR 05, which comes from the BR 01, which comes from the cockpit," they summarize within the House. This aeronautical heritage, a direct link between the past and the present, is reflected in the letter X, a symbol of secrecy, experimentation and the future. With the BR X5, this avant-garde element has entered the permanent collection.

With its design and technical characteristics, the BR X5, powered by a Manufacture movement, is positioned as a superlative BR 05 and writes a new chapter in the history of Bell & Ross. Completing the range upwards, its design and aesthetics reflect a desire to innovate, to dare, to differentiate. The development of its mechanism in an exclusive configuration is the result of a union of skills, a value dear to the House of Bell & Ross. It gives the symbol "&" a new scope: design & manufacture movement. With this new collection, the House of Watchmaking is once again turning to lovers of fine watchmaking.

The nobility of a manufacture movement

" If audacity was the guiding principle throughout the creative process, the notion of risk was banished from our vocabulary when it came to reliability and precision," explains Bruno Belamich, Creative Director of Bell & Ross.

The company is adding a watchmaking dimension to the BR 05 collection by equipping its new BR X5 with a manufacture movement designed by Swiss specialist Kenissi. "With the BR X5, we wanted to push the technical and aesthetic limits," says Bruno Belamich. In compliance with the specifications defined by Bell & Ross, it took several years of development to design, develop and perfect the manufacture movement. Equipped with a customized oscillating weight and a variable inertia balance, the BR CAL 323 caliber beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and has a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. This so-called "weekend proof" capacity means that the watch can be left on Friday evening and picked up again on Monday morning without having to be wound. Another advantage of this Manufacture movement is its quick date correction device, which allows the watch to be adjusted at any time without affecting its operation.

Focus on precision and reliability

A large sapphire crystal caseback allows the wearer to contemplate the functioning of this exceptional movement, and in particular that of its personalized weight, inspired by the design of a sports car rim. The mechanism is COSC certified, a first for Bell & Ross. The Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Organization grants it the chronometer designation, a guarantee of great precision. With this new BR CAL 323 manufacture caliber, the company is emphasizing precision and reliability more than ever. Both the movement and the case are guaranteed for 5 years. Lovers of fine mechanics will appreciate it.

The audacity of a multi-component case

At Bell & Ross, the Bauhaus precept that function defines design is never far away. In the genesis of the BR X5, the quest for performance concerns both the mechanism and the case. Thus the architecture of the multi-component case favors purity and radicality, lightness and resistance. The 41 mm wide case, made entirely of steel, is built around a watertight container, a sort of central core that protects the manufacture movement. The crown guard is machined from the same block as the container.

The square bezel with its round sapphire crystal, on the dial side, and the open back, on the movement side, are fixed on the two steel plates that form the top and bottom of the case. The plates-container-sapphire crystal-bottom assembly is kept watertight by the 4 screws that go through the thickness of the case, passing through 4 columns that reinforce the solidity of the construction. This multi-layer assembly is discreet from the front, but takes on its full dimension when you look at the BRX5 from the side. The hollowed-out architecture of the case middle is obvious, and we discover a technical construction that optimizes lightness without making any concessions on resistance.

The different finishes, polished, satin-finished and micro-blasted, redefine the lines and surfaces of this watchmaking puzzle. A rubber ring highlights the bezel to enrich and personalize the case finish.

The appeal of a new feature

The BR X5 is distinguished from the BR 05 by its movement and functions displayed on the dial. The dial features a large date window at 3 o'clock and a power reserve indicator in the form of a circle at 9 o'clock. The latter, divided into three thirds, allows you to check the autonomy of your watch. These features give the new BR X5 a new face and a new visual identity.

The dial design optimizes the reading of information. The hours are marked by long metallic applique hour markers with rhodium-plated contours and a central part filled with X1 grade Super-LumiNova® for optimal readability day or night. The bezel houses the numerical minute markers.

The integrated steel bracelet is firmly attached to the case to form a perfectly ergonomic unit. The articulation of the attachment links offers remarkable comfort when worn.

In addition to the "all-steel" design, a rubber strap is offered to dress up the watch in a more sporty style. Like the case, it is light, resistant and breathable. It is equipped with a secure folding clasp.

Conclusion

The range consists of two steel models. They are both intended for active urbanites in search of the avant-garde.

- The version with the black dial perpetuates the identity of Bell & Ross instruments: a functional watch without any concession of style.

- The version with the Ice Blue dial asserts a more stylish and dressy side for modern men looking for a piece of strength.

Each of these watches is available on a steel bracelet or rubber strap.
