Our compatriot Magali Kempen, born in Herentals on November 30 1997, has ended her best tennis year to date. At the start of 2022, she was ranked 450th in the WTA rankings, but today she's knocking on the door of the world's Top 200. Thanks to this remarkable progress in 2022, Magali has been selected for the 1st edition of the United Cup in Perth, Australia, a mixed competition in which a Belgian team consisting, among others, of Luxilon players David Goffin, Elise Mertens and Kimmer Coppejans will take part.Next, Magali will take part for the first time in her career in the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year for which the player from La Rochelle will try to qualify from January 9, 2023 in Melbourne.Since the start of her professional career, Magali has won 9 singles titles (most recently at the W25 in Joue-Les-Tours in February 2022) and 16 doubles titles (including the best of her career at the W60 in Nantes in November 2022).When in Belgium, Magali trains close to home at the Sportiva tennis club in Hulshout, often under the watchful eye of her brother Kevin Kempen - who is her biggest fan - and her company KCNT.Last September, Magali and her team from the Tennis Club d'Embourg won the Interclub Dames 1 Nationale final.
