BREITLING WELCOMES THE FORD THUNDERBIRD TO ITS TOP TIME CLASSIC CARS COLLECTION

The series of great American sports cars acquires a new member with more power under the hood thanks to the arrival of the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01.
The 1960s was a decade of experimentation, fun, freedom and energy. Whether it was cruising the roads on a motorcycle or in a sports car, living life at full speed was the order of the day. Willy Breitling, a third generation founder, sensed this change of pace and set out to create an unconventional chronograph that would reflect the spirit of the times. He gave it the name Top Time.
From the very beginning, Top Time was all about action and quickly became the favorite watch of car and fashion enthusiasts. One of the first chronographs to be appreciated by both men and women, its bold and graphic design conquered magazines and the silver screen. James Bond, the world's most popular spy, even wore one in the 1965 film Operation Thunder. Today, this vibrant tradition continues through Breitling's partnership with some of the coolest automotive brands to create its Top Time models, such as Deus Ex Machina and Triumph Motorcycles for motorcycles, Ford Thunderbird and Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette and Shelby Cobra for cars.
Design elements include the perforated racing-themed leather strap, a tachometer to measure speed, and contrasting "squircle" (half round, half square) sub-dials that evoke vintage dashboard gauges. Like its style-focused 1960s predecessor, the Top Time's 41mm stainless steel case is comfortable for car and watch enthusiasts of all stripes.
