The beautiful encounter

"Bruno is a long-haul airline pilot with a Belgian company. Bruno tells me that, for years, he's had the ambition of creating a watch that would display two time zones, practical for pilots making stopovers in the four corners of the world. He shows me his sketches, his visual design, for a watch he's already named: it will be the Airliner, in reference to the pilots who fly the line. His sketches are precise, his designs masterful: Bruno knows what he wants and, above all, what he doesn't want. He wanted a watch without a digital display, with a vintage look, a sure value but at a price that aviation enthusiasts could afford. We immediately decided to join forces on this project, Bruno contributing his concept and designs, and myself my technical expertise and commercial know-how drawn from my 35 years of experience in the watchmaking industry. We fine-tuned the project and, in just a few months, finalized the new GMT AIRLINER watch, which we hope will delight the many chronograph enthusiasts." Alain De Nys
